It depends on what is underneath. Laminate can sometimes be laid over existing vinyl or tiles if the surface is flat, firm and level — it cannot go over carpet. We check the subfloor during our free quote visit and advise you honestly. If the tiles are uneven or the floor needs levelling first, we quote for that preparation work separately.

Herringbone laminate fitting costs roughly 30–50% more than a standard straight lay because the angled cuts and alignment take more time and skill. Before we arrive, clear the room of furniture and remove any existing carpet if possible (we can do this for an extra charge). Make sure the laminate boards have been in the room for at least 24–48 hours to acclimatise. We handle everything else on fitting day.
