FitFloors is a labour-only flooring fitting team based in Birmingham. We fit carpet, laminate, engineered wood, herringbone, vinyl, LVT, stair carpet and do subfloor preparation. We don't sell flooring — you buy from any retailer, we install it. We cover Birmingham and the West Midlands.

Labour-only means we fit the flooring but don't supply it. You buy your carpet, laminate, LVT or vinyl from B&Q, Carpetright, Flooring Superstore or any other retailer. We bring all the tools, fixings and expertise. You pay for fitting labour only — no markup on materials.

Call or WhatsApp us with your room size, floor type and what you want fitted. For most jobs we can quote immediately. For larger or more complex jobs we arrange a free site visit to measure and check the subfloor. All quotes are written and come with no obligation.

Fitting cost depends on the flooring type and room size. Carpet starts from around £3–£6 per m² for labour. Laminate and vinyl from £5–£10 per m². LVT from £12–£22 and engineered wood from £15–£25 per m². Stair carpet is priced per step at £10–£18. Contact FitFloors for a free written quote.

No. All quotes are free and come with no obligation to proceed. We visit, measure and check the subfloor, then send a written quote via WhatsApp or email. The quote breaks down labour and any subfloor preparation separately.

Yes. FitFloors fits carpet across Birmingham — full room carpet, bedroom carpet, living room and hallway carpet. We fit all pile types (twist, loop, saxony) and all brands from any retailer. We also fit the underlay and all door bars and threshold strips.

Yes. FitFloors fits click laminate flooring across Birmingham. We fit all thicknesses from any brand — B&Q, Wickes, Pergo, Quick-Step or any other. Laminate fitting costs from around £5–£10 per m² for labour. We fit the underlay, door bars and expansion gaps to manufacturer specification.

Yes. We fit engineered wood in both floating and glue-down methods. We also fit engineered wood in herringbone pattern. Fitting cost is from around £15–£25 per m². We assess the subfloor before fitting and advise on the best installation method for your subfloor type.

Herringbone is a diagonal laying pattern used with engineered wood, laminate and LVT. Each plank is cut and fitted at 45 or 90 degrees to form an interlocking V-shape. It costs 30–50% more to fit than a straight lay due to the additional cutting and time. FitFloors fits herringbone in Birmingham.

LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is a premium, thicker vinyl usually glued down — Karndean and Amtico are the main UK brands. Standard vinyl covers sheet vinyl (rolled), SPC click boards and click vinyl planks. LVT costs more to fit because glue-down installation requires precise subfloor preparation. FitFloors fits both.

Yes. Karndean is a glue-down LVT brand we fit regularly across Birmingham. We fit all Karndean ranges — Knight Tile, Van Gogh, Da Vinci and others. Karndean requires a perfectly flat, dry subfloor and correct adhesive application. We follow Karndean's installation specification to protect your warranty.

Yes. FitFloors fits sheet vinyl, SPC click vinyl and click vinyl planks in Birmingham. Vinyl is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways. Sheet vinyl fitting starts from around £5 per m² for labour. All brands fitted — Polyflor, Harvey Maria, Altro, B&Q, Wickes or any other.

Waterfall fitting runs carpet continuously over each tread and riser. Hollywood (cap and band) cuts each tread and riser separately for a neater finish — it takes longer and costs more. FitFloors fits both methods. We advise which suits your staircase and budget during the free quote visit.

Yes. FitFloors carries out subfloor assessment, self-levelling compound application and sand-and-cement screeding in Birmingham. We include a free subfloor check with every fitting quote. If the floor needs levelling, we quote for it separately before any work starts.

Self-levelling compound costs £8–£12 per m² including materials. Sand-and-cement screeding costs £12–£20 per m². A standard 15m² room costs £120–£300 depending on method and depth required. Subfloor assessment is free with every FitFloors fitting quote.
